Zach views successful design as being more than aesthetics. He sees design as a thoughtful balance of function, inclusion, and emotion. It benefits, engages, and endures. Great design meets the needs of every user, not just the majority. He feels it encourages exploration, supports connection, and fosters a sense of belonging.
Through a unique career journey, Zach has learned about all aspects of design - starting in a role space planning and drafting construction documents for retail rollout projects. He quickly learned the ins and outs of a CD set, and eventually began drafting MEP documents to help keep projects on track with their aggressive schedules. After just a year in this role, Zach was given the responsibility of managing projects for Buzzed Bull Creamery, a Cincinnati based franchise that was expanding in Ohio and to the south. Zach worked with the end user and oversaw design from concept through construction.
After pursuing a position more focused on interior design, Zach landed at BHDP architecture on the workplace and retail banking teams. He has been primarily focused on Fifth Third projects, specifically flagship branch locations, Next Gen renovations, and leading the GEM Legacy refresh program. Zach has found his place leading the design of the projects, managing internal and external coordination, collaborating with clients and teammates, creating efficiencies in processes through templating, and sharing knowledge with other team members.
