Zach’s lifelong passion for music serves as both a creative outlet and a meaningful complement to his work in interior design. Raised in a musical family, he picked up his first guitar at the age of 10. What began as a casual interest gradually evolved into a deeper commitment, as he developed his skills and expanded into drums and bass, eventually exploring songwriting and composition.
During college, Zach began regularly playing drums with close friends, which strengthened his technical abilities and understanding of collaboration. He further enriched this foundation through coursework in music theory and history. After graduation, his desire to continue creating music led him back to jamming with close friends, where consistent group sessions pushed him to expand his skill set even further—this time by learning keyboard.
These experiences culminated in the formation of The Smoove, a blues and rock ’n’ roll band built on a shared drive to experiment, grow, and push creative boundaries. Within the group, Zach naturally assumed a dual role that bridged his design background with his musical interests. In addition to performing, he contributes to the band’s visual identity by designing show posters, logos, and album artwork. He has also expanded into digital media, developing content for social platforms and exploring new ways to visually communicate the band’s sound and personality.
For Zach, music is more than a hobby—it is an extension of his creative practice. It informs his approach to design, encouraging rhythm, balance, and expression across disciplines while providing a dynamic space for exploration outside of traditional interior environments.
